Quilter Cheviot has announced the appointment of Caroline Simmons as its new chief investment officer (CIO) following the retirement of Duncan Gwyther. Simmons, who has worked at UBS Global Wealth Management for 20 years, will begin her role in March. She will be responsible for managing the firm’s investment process and overseeing the equity, fund, and fixed interest research teams. Simmons will also join the executive committee at Quilter Cheviot. CEO Andrew McGlone praised Simmons as a highly respected leader and expressed confidence in her ability to lead the firm’s research teams. The appointment follows the upcoming retirement of chief investment strategist Alan McIntosh.
